The America-Japan Society has been playing an important role as the headquarters of the National Association of America-Japan Societies in promoting a closer working relationship and exchange programs not only among American-Japan Societies in Japan, but also among Japan-America Societies in the United States, which are under the umbrella of the National Association of the Japan-America Societies (NAJAS).

In 2010, 7th International Symposium of the America-Japan Societies will be held at Akita International University in Akita from August 6-8.
